Persian chess is a 2-person board game of combat and strategy , which ends with the death or surrender of the opposing king, but also includes a draw.
It is played on the "chessboard", a diagram of 64 squares painted alternately black and white and arranged horizontally and vertically in 8x8 dimensions. Each player has 16 pawns: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two officers and eight pawns. Each of the six types of pawns performs different moves on the chessboard. One player plays with the white pawns and the other with the black ones. The aim of each player is to checkmate the opponent's king so that he is unable to counter an attack by the opponent's pawns ("eating"). Pawns are used to provide support to other pawns of the same color or to attack and capture opponent's pawns. In addition to checkmate, a player wins when his opponent voluntarily folds, as he judges that his defeat is inevitable. Another possible outcome of a game of chess is a draw, which can occur in a number of ways.
It is believed that chess originated in India, before the 7th century AD. The value of pawns was established in Spain in the 15th century, while the rules of the game were finalized in the 19th century. Today chess is played by millions of people around the world, while new types of the game, which differ from the classic in terms of rules, have also become significantly popular.
